Greenwich hail their returning hero

Jack Sammoutis returns to Borough

Yesterday Hythe Town announced the departure of three players, having decided to cut their playing budget as their dream of a playoff place disappears over the horizon. Amongst the trio was Jack Sammoutis, with manager Sam Denly describing the forward as “a fantastic player. I think a lot of the lad and it was a call I didn’t want to make."

We all wondered where he would end up- but we didn't have to wonder for long! In the last last few minutes it has been announced that he has returned to Greenwich Borough.

Sammoutis turned out for Borough last season, scoring six goals after signing during the summer, before heading back to his former club- and Borough's playoff rivals- Walton Casuals, scoring in a playoff semi-final victory over Cray Wanderers and then celebrating promotion with Casuals before heading to Hythe for the start of this season. He's made twenty eight appearances for the other Cannons during this campaign, scoring nine goals.

He is in line to make his second Greenwich debut as they entertain second place Horsham on Saturday.
