NLP 2014 National Game Awards

Ryman League hot-shot Ross Allen was unveiled as one of the big winners at The Non-League Paper’s 2014 National Game Awards on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old Guernsey striker, pictured, was named as the winner of the Step 3 & 4 Pro Direct Soccer Golden Boot accolade at the paper’s prestigious 11th annual awards which returned this season to Fulham’s Craven Cottage.

Allen scored 46 times last season for Tony Vance’s Green Lions to beat off the competition from the top scorers in the Southern League and Northern Premier League.

Allen, the Channel Islanders’ all-time leading scorer with 163 goals to his name, bagged six of his strikes in a single match this season, in the process helping the Footes Lane club set a new record for their biggest win in their 11-0 rout of Crawley Down Gatwick on New Year’s Day.

The triumph also earned the club January’s Ryman South Macron Performance of the Month award.
