New signings for Dockers and Moatsiders

Tilbury and Merstham strengthen

North Division Tilbury and Premier Division Merstham yesterday announced that they'd strengthened their squads before crucial matches at the weekend.

The Dockers added two. First, in came George Sykes from Maldon & Tiptree. Sykes, who turned out 45 times for Canvey Island last season, scoring 25 goals, has played 9 times for the Jammers, and indeed scored the winner as they defeated Soham Town Rangers last Saturday. Next, in came Darren Phillips from Basildon United. The defender has played a dozen matches for United this season, most recently in defeat to Bowers & Pitsea.

Merstham have signed Caio Vale Guimaraes from Dulwich Hamlet, and fans of the side in pink and blue seem sad to see him go if their reaction on social media is anything to go by, although it is tinged with the understanding that he needs more game time. The midfielder made all of his appearances for Hamlet last season from the subs bench, as they won promotion to National League South for the first time in their history.
