Rooks go five clear- and midweek transfer news

It perhaps wasn't expected that Shoreham would provide an upset at the Dripping Pan, but whenever top takes on bottom there is always the chance of complacency setting in and a shock result. Four goals later, however, and Lewes had extended their lead at the top of the South Division to five points, and Shoreham remained marooned thirteen points behind Molesey in the one relegation spot.

Lewes took the lead through a Jonte Smith penalty after twenty five minutes, and when Lloyd Cotton made it two seven minutes before the break there looked to be little chance of a Musselmen recovery- and indeed that's how it proved, Bouwe Bosma and Leon Redwood making the points safe after the interval.

On the transfer front, we'll remain at the Dripping Pan, as it has been confirmed that Rooks striker George Landais has joined Horsham on a permanent basis following a six week loan with the Hornets. More news on that here.

Also in the South Division, Ashford United must be sensing a global footballer shortage as they appear to be hoarding them at Homelands, having yesterday announced that they've signed two more, taking their seasons total to 1726 (not really, it's only 192). Their two new arrivals are Malachi Robinson and Siao Blackwood, the former from Corinthian-Casuals and the later from VCD Athletic. More news on those signings here.
