Lewes volunteers in line for Sussex honours

The BBC Sussex Community Heroes Awards are dedicated to celebrating unsung heroes from across the local area- and Lewes FC have been advised that their volunteers have been shortlisted in the Sport category. Two of them, David Arnold and club shop supremo Barry, even feature in a BBC video, which you can watch here. That's Barry, on the right of our headline photograph.

All of the shortlisted nominees will attend a prestigious awards ceremony at the Gatwick Crowne Plaza Hotel on Monday, 26 November, when the overall winners in each category will be announced. There will be online coverage of proceedings on the night on BBC Radio Sussex, and a special programme of highlights will be aired in December.

We'd like to wish the best of luck to all at the Dripping Pan- where, incidentally, the Rooks are entertaining Brighton & Hove Albion U23's in the Sussex Senior Cup this evening. The men's first team then entertains Hemel Hempstead Town on Saturday in the FA Trophy, whilst the Women's First Team have the visit of Manchester United to look forward to on 2nd December.
