Simmons completes touchline team

Former Fakenham Town boss Anderson was unveiled as the club's assistant manager on Wednesday, just over a month after Simmons, pictured, stepped up from nine years in the role to succeed Matt Henman following his departure from Aldiss Park in April.

Simmons, who played for the Magpies for five seasons, completed this touchline team with the appointment of former Swaffham Town defender Matt Parkinson as first team coach after he stepped up from managing the club’s reserves.

In a statement confirming the appointments, the Magpies said: “We are pleased to announce that Neal Simmons will be assisted by Wayne Anderson and the first team coach will be Matt Parkinson for the 17-18 season. We would like to welcome Wayne back to Dereham Town and congratulate Matt on his move up to the first team from the reserves.”

Henman left Dereham after nine years at helm with the club firmly established in Ryman North, finishing 18th in his final campaign after steering his side clear of relegation trouble.

* Jason Tuley, formerly chairman of Dereham Town Youth Football Club, was named as new Magpies chairman last week after the joining the club's committee.
