Walk like an Urchin!

Hornchurch fans trek to Kent to raise funds

AFC Hornchurch fans may have been left despondent when Tonbridge Angels scored a late winner at Longmead on Saturday- but there was one consolation. At least they didn't have to walk back!

Setting off the previous day, a large group of supporters and officials walked the almost thirty-four miles from Bridge Avenue to Kent in aid of the Urchins Academy. They raised more than two thousand seven hundred pounds- cash which will go towards the building of a classroom. So far supporters have raised almost ten thousand pounds for the project.

The image- courtesy of Ann Hodgkinson- shows the intrepid band enjoying an overnight rest after the first twenty-five miles; well deserved, particularly given that most of the walk was uphill and the weather was far from kind!

When Harry met Hayley...and the Wasps! Harry Redknapp and Hayley McQueen headed to East Grinstead. So did a large number of other people- and the attraction wasn't the sausages!
