Ward brothers sacked by Rams

By David Watters

Ramsgate relieved Jim and Danny Ward of their managerial duties at the Ryman South strugglers on Thursday night.

The end of their third spell at the helm of the Thanet club was announced in a short statement on the official Rams website with officials citing a run of poor results for the decision to part company with the duo.

The Rams said: "Due to a poor season the Board has decided that a change is needed and so Jim and Danny Ward have relieved of their managerial duties with immediate effect. Further announcements will follow in due course."

Having previously taken the club from the Kent League to the Ryman League, the brothers, pictured, returned to Southwood in May 2015 having led Whitstable to eighth, their best ever finish in the Ryman League.

After finishing 12th last season, the pair had won just seven of their 27 matches. Over Christmas, they took just one point from three matches, their final game at the helm, Bank Holiday Monday's 1-0 defeat at Hythe Town.
