YOUR Bostik team of the year

By Ian Townsend

Would you like to pick your team of the year? Get in touch!

It's the summer. Ten months (or nine if your side didn't make the playoffs) of watching football has come to an end, and now we get to relax for a while and watch cricket. But if you don't want to be sent straight to sleep, then let's get back to football!

Just for fun, and to stimulate a little debate, we thought you might like to send us your team of the year. To keep it simple we're going for a classic 4-4-2 formation (although we don't see too many of those anymore) and we'd like you to choose your first eleven from the league which the team you support plays in, given we'd like you to have first-hand experience of watching the players you choose.

Don't worry about whether they are wingers, full backs etc- just give us a keeper, four defenders, four midfielders and two strikers!

So, to recap, send us your name, tell us which team you support, and give us your Bostik First XI, perhaps explaining (briefly) the reason for each choice- but that's not compulsory. We'll then publish your line up- and if we get enough votes we'll put together an Supporters Team of the Year for each Division.

Right, fire away- send your emails to townsendaround@gmail.com writing the name of the Division and Team of the Year (so, for example, Premier Team of the Year or South East Team of the Year) in the subject bar- and just to get you in the mood, here's my effort for the Premier Division:

Goalkeeper: Danny Bracken (Corinthian-Casuals)

Defenders: Jack Parter (Tonbridge Angels), Will Salmon (Leatherhead), Ollie Cook (Merstham), Tom Mills (Margate)

Midfielders: Joe Turner (Tonbridge Angels), David Ajiboye (Worthing), Kenny Beaney (Merstham),Peter Adeniyi (Carshalton Athletic)

Forwards: Jamie Cureton (Bishop’s Stortford), Jason Prior (Dorking Wanderers)

Right, over to you!

Take care
