Your favourite Bostik Away Ground- the results!

By Ian Townsend

We've been asking supporters from all of our clubs to vote for their favourite away grounds. So, which is better? There's only one way to find out!

What makes a great away trip? Is it the quality of the welcome, the variety of beer, the surroundings, the acoustics, or the burgers? All of these and more have been mentioned by our Bostik Supporters during our annual survey and predictions, but which grounds were the best? Which club gives the best Bostik experience? And have your opinions changed since last year?

In a word, no. You still love Lewes!

For the second year in a row, The Dripping Pan was voted your favourite away destination. You liked the people, the beautiful countryside, the beer, the burgers and occasionally the football! Congrats to all at the Pan for consistently delivering an experience which is appreciated by all.

Lewes were- obviously- our Premier Division winner. In joint second place came Haringey Borough and Tonbridge Angels, which were particularly mentioned for the quality of the welcome. The moral of this story appears to be that if you engage with away fans they'll not only remember you fondly even if their team loses, but will want to come back.

In the South Central Division there was also a clear winner. Tooting and Mitcham United's Imperial Fields wasn't only the most highly regarded ground in the division, but came joint second overall. Hertford Town's Hertingfordbury Park was voted into second place.

There were three clubs that came joint second overall, and the other two both came from the North Division. Take a bow Aveley and AFC Sudbury, where visiting fans were particularly complementary about the quality of your facilities.

In the South East Division you headed back to Sussex, and on this occasion you liked to be beside the seaside. Hastings United came out on top- a 'proper old football ground' was the description of one supporter, and others mentioned the quality of the atmosphere.

So your overall top ten best Bostik grounds looks like this:

1. Lewes

=2. Tooting & Mitcham United/AFC Sudbury/Aveley

5. Hertford Town

=6. Hastings United/Haringey Borough/Tonbridge Angels/Canvey Island

10. Bury Town.

Thanks again to all those who voted, and congratulations to our winners. There's no prize, apart from the glow of satisfaction that, whatever you are doing, away supporters love and appreciate it- but of course that's better than a trophy anyway!

Where next?

Invicta to start the season by being charitable But don’t worry, fabulous Fullicks folk; the charity may be beginning at home – but that’s only off the pitch!
