Folkestone close the gap

FOLKESTONE moved to within five points of the Ryman South play-off places with a 3-2 home win over Chipstead tonight (Wednesday).

Darren Smith put them ahead after 16 minutes and Josh Burchell added another just after the interval. Jason Goodchild pulled one back in the 61st minute, his fourth goal of the season which made him his club’s top scorer.

Phil Stevenson’s penalty restored the two-goal margin in the 71st minute but Sam Robinson netted with eight minutes left to keep Chips in the hunt until the end.
