Margate manager Terry Brown will have to do without the services of Charlie Allen for the rest of the season after the midfielder was ruled out of the title race with a knee injury.

The free-scoring midfielder, pictured, had scored 13 goals for Brown's title-chasers this season before he was hurt playing in Margate's 2-1 home defeat to Dulwich Hamlet in January.

Former Notts County, Gillingham, Tamworth player Allen arrived at Hartsdown Park in March 2014 and scored an impressive seven goals in 13 appearances before signing a one year deal this term.

In a statement confirming the 22-year-old's injury had ended his season, Blues officials wished their player well.

"Everyone at Margate Football Club would like to wish Charlie a speedy recovery," said the club.
