Gaming giants sponsor Towners

Enfield Town

The Ryman League's Enfield Town are celebrating a kit sponsorship deal with the makers of one of the world's leading computer football games.

Global games giant Sports Interactive's Football Manager, which has sold more than ten million copies worldwide, will adorn the front of the Premier Division club's away strip, pictured, at Grays Athletic on Saturday and throughout the coming campaign.

Town say they are thrilled to announce the deal and be associated with a brand loved and played by football fans and budding managers around the world. The Towners believe the partnership between the first wholly supporters owned club in England and a game made famous for giving players a chance to control the destiny of their own virtual teams is the perfect link-up.

Delighted Enfield Town Chairman Paul Millington is looking forward to working with Sports Interactive over the coming season at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium.

He said: "Being sponsored by such an internationally popular brand as Football Manager is a major step for the club and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership."

Sports Interactive’s Miles Jacobson added: "We've kept a keen eye on Enfield Town since the club was set up back in 2001 and we know that they gave our friends at AFC Wimbledon a great deal of useful advice when they started up in the following year. We're delighted to have Football Manager on the front of the club's away shirt and look forward to a successful season."
