Gulls swoops for Gunners keeper

Ryman League Canvey Island have pulled off a coup by signing one Arsenal's teenage keepers.

The Premier Division's Gulls announced on Thursday that 19-year-old Josh Vickers had arrived on a season long loan from the Premier League giants.

Vickers made 13 appearances for the Gunners' U18s side last season and was also a member of the club's NextGen squad that reached the semi-final of the competition.

Vickers is an athletic keeper whose shot-stopping and distribution abilities has had pundits tipping him for a big future in the game.
