Hamlet handed Silkmen carrot!

Ryman Premier Dulwich Hamlet are looking forward to hosting Macclesfield Town in the quarter-finals of the Buildbase FA Trophy if they can overcome Braintree Town on Tuesday night.

After drawing 0-0 in the third round in Essex on Saturday, Gavin Rose's south Londoners were paired with the Silkmen in Monday morning's draw at Wembley which was broadcast live for fans on Periscope via the @FA Twitter feed.

If the Ryman League's final flag-bearers in Non-League's showpiece competition can dispatch the Iron when they go again at Champion Hill they'll also bank £7,000 in prize money with another £8,000 on offer for the winners of the last eight ties which are scheduled to be played on Saturday 25 February.

Conducted by FA Trophy Committee chairman Phil Smith and Hemel Hempstead Town boss Dean Brennan, who won the competition with Grays Athletic in 2005, the only confirmed quarter-final tie is Brackley Town’s trip to York City. National League table-toppers Lincoln City will travel to either Sutton United or Boreham Wood while Tranmere Rovers will host the winners of the third round replay between Chelmsford City and Barrow.

Hamlet haven't reached the third round for 33 years since playing Northwich Victoria in 1984 and victory on Tuesday night will equal their best-ever run in the competition in 1980 when the South Londoners reached the quarter-finals before being beaten by Boston United after a replay. To get this far they have already beaten Chesham United, Lowestoft Town, Winchester City, Royston Town and Whitehawk.

The Football Association's Non-League Finals Day is returning to Wembley Stadium on Sunday 21 May when the Buildbase FA Vase and Buildbase FA Trophy Finals will be played back-to-back at the national stadium – repeating the historic double staging of the two showpiece events last season. Tickets prices have been frozen at last season's rates of £25 for adults and £10 for concessions. All children will be charged just £1.
