Happy days for Hawks stalwart!

By David Watters

Harlow Town

Life couldn't have got much better for Harlow Town's president Ron Bruce on Saturday, even before he'd seen his beloved Ryman North club progress in the FA Trophy.

The Hawks stalwart is pictured before kick-off against Wroxham being presented with a certificate and specially made pin badge to mark his 25 years of loyal service by the Ryman League's Vice-Chairman and Company Secretary Nick Robinson.

To the delight of other club officials, even the scoreline recorded by Danny Chapman's side at the Harlow Arena seemed to mirror the special presentation with the Hawks running out 5-2 winners in the Preliminary Round clash!

Hawks secretary Ray Dyer said: "Congratulations to our president Ron Bruce. It was very much deserved for all his hard work over the years."
