Ill health has forced Kim Harris to step down as manager of Corinthian Casuals.

The Ryman South club released a statement on Wednesday night announcing the departure of Harris, pictured, less than three weeks into the new campaign.

Former Casuals manager Brian Adamson has agreed to step in temporarily ahead of Saturday's FA Cup Preliminary Round tie against Erith Town at St George's Fields. Adamson returns two years after standing down himself for health reasons after under-going a double heart bypass.

Harris, who's also managed Kingstonian and Walton Casuals and played for Casuals, was Adamson's assistant manager when he was appointed in June 2011.

Club spokesman Stuart Tree said: "It is with great regret that Corinthian-Casuals announce the departure of first team manager Kim Harris. Kim has struggled with health problems over the last year or so and he feels this has lessened his abilities to function fully.

"With this development his assistant manager, Tony Davies, has asked to stand down. We are profoundly grateful for their achievements whilst with us."

Adamson will hope to give the club an FA Cup boost after Harris's departure and a poor start to the season that has seen them record a win and a draw from their opening six games.
