Margate

Margate officials have announced two days of trials for young players hoping to win a place in the Ryman Premier club's new U21 side.

Margate are re-entering a side in the Ryman U21 League after pulling out of this season's competition and are hosting trials at Hartsdown Park on Saturday 9 May and Sunday 10 May.

The U21s will be managed by Margate's current U18s manager Paul Robinson and he is looking forward to unearthing the Kent club's next generation of talent in the local community.

Robinson, who also works for Charlton Athletic as their social inclusion officer in Kent, said: “We are really excited to have an U21 side again at Margate next season. It is all part of the development plan and we expect to bring these lads through and playing for the first team as soon as possible.

“This is a real chance for the youngsters in the local area to join an ambitious club that is certainly heading in the right direction."
