Burgess Hill Town are hailing the success of their Non-League Day efforts and hoping to see many of their new fans again after more than seven hundred turned out to watch the league leaders defeat East Grinstead 3-1 at the Green Elephants Stadium last Saturday.

The Hillians teamed up with match sponsor Planet Partitioning to offer free entry on Non-League Day 2014 and were rewarded with a crowd of 717 as the local community and Brighton & Hove Albion supporters, who were without a match, turned out to see the Ryman South clash, pictured.

Burgess Hill Town’s Dave Bradbury said: "We were delighted with the amount of spectators that came along. We opened the doors for all to come and watch us and were delighted they were able to see us win, score some great goals and we hope they will be back in the future. Thanks go to the day’s Match Sponsor Darren Hawkins from Planet Partitioning, who helped us to be able to give free entry to everyone.

"The day was good as were able to show off the club and facilities to new people attending for the first time and we received a lot of positive feedback on social media. The social media side of the club has also been given a boost with over 150 new followers in the twitter on the day’s leading up to the game."

Bradbury added: "Today proves that the club and the community have a future together and we hope that this will continue for the rest of this season and beyond. We feel we offer the best standard of football along with the best matchday experience for supporters in mid-Sussex and we are always striving to improve things at the Green Elephants Stadium."

Burgess Hill-based sports shop GR Teamwear, the Hillians' official merchandise supplier, were also at the ground and delighted with the club's efforts after selling plenty of replica Hillians shirts and new scarves to new and old supporters.
