Hillians running out of room for accolades!

Macron Team Performance of the Month Awards

Burgess Hill Town can start looking forward to collecting a record-breaking third Macron performance accolade of the campaign after being named alongside two new winners of the monthly awards, Thamesmead Town in Ryman North and Peacehaven & Telscombe in the Ryman Premier.

After collecting Macron's Ryman South Team Performance of the Month Award in October and then November, Ian Chapman's Hillians made it three in the row when the trio were unveiled on Thursday for their heroics in the FA Trophy, the battling 1-0 victory at Aldershot in the first round proper on Saturday 13 December when they defended a slender lead for more than an hour against the Conference Premier's Shots.

The title-chasing Hillians have now won three out of the five performance awards handed out so far this season and must be running out of the room in their trophy cabinet after Chapman was also named on Thursday as the winner of December's Nicholas Rowe Tailoring Manager of the Month Award to add to his Ryman South accolades for September and October.

Thamesmead Town and manager Keith McMahon produced one of the comebacks of the season so far to take the Ryman North's laurels, the Mead turning round a 2-0 deficit to beat league leaders Harlow Town 3-2 at Bayliss Avenue on Tuesday 16 December.

In the Ryman's top flight, Macron's performance award was also won for a victory over the division's leaders and this time as the away side, Magpies caretaker manager Tony Coade pulling off a shock 2-1 win at Margate's Hartsdown Park on Saturday 20 December in his first game in charge before his appointment a few days later as the successor to the long-serving Shaun Saunders who stepped down at the Sports Park in December.

Macron's winning clubs are presented with glass trophies marking their achievements at upcoming fixtures by representatives from the league and the sponsors. Each month the competition's judges carefully consider a shortlist of potential clashes and the form and circumstances behind the performances before choosing the winning clubs.
