Hornets add three- and news on the new ground and pre-season friendlies

Horsham sign up a Casuals promotion winner- and two bright Sparks!

Horsham last night announced three new signings to add to an already impressive-looking squad for the forthcoming campaign.

First in came Walton Casuals promotion-winning forward Tyrell Richardson-Brown, and he was soon joined by South Park defender James McElligott and midfielder Dean Lovegrove. You can read more on those signings at the club website here.

Whilst we're talking all things Hornet, the club's new stadium at Hop Oast is coming along nicely, with construction of the main and training pitches well underway as well as fencing complete. Horsham have their own auxillary website charting progesss, and you can visit it here. By the way, the pitches are being constructed by Velocity Sports, and we'll have news of the Velocity Trophy draw on Tuesday.

The club face Newquay away on Saturday as they continue their pre-season (and if you happen to be on holiday in Cornwall!), before returning to Sussex for a match at Hassocks on Tuesday night. For those who haven't been to Hassocks FC before, the ground sits below the South Downs (you get good views of Jack and Jill windmills, and of the glorious Wolstonbury Hill), has fantastic catering, and a high grass bank behind the goal where you can relax with your pint, burger and home made cake (all highly recommended). The ground is around a ten minute walk from the station, and has a decent amount of parking (but don't park in the garden centre car park). This is your Hassocks correspondent signing off!
