AFC Hornchurch

Hot-shot Kieran Bishop has left Ware to boost Jimmy McFarlane's struggling strike force at AFC Hornchurch in the Ryman's top flight.

Ware's 24-year-old top scorer has been on the radar of the Urchins manager for some time and made the switch from the Ryman North's Blues on Wednesday.

Bishop, pictured, scored 13 goals for the club last season and 18 more in the league during the current campaign. By comparison, the entire Urchins side has only scored 24 goals between them so far this term.

Officials at Wodson Park say they will miss Bishop's goals as they target a play-off spot but have wished him well at the higher level. The forward could get his first chance in an Urchins shirt on Saturday when McFarlane's fourth from bottom side host Wingate & Finchley at the Bridge.

Ware manager Kem Kemal was generous in his praise for Bishop in a statement on the club's website announcing his departure.

He said: "He leaves with our blessing and we will forever be in his debt for the goals that he scored to save us [from relegation] last season."
