Macron Performance of the Month Awards

Maidstone United, Horsham and Aveley have scooped the new Ryman League campaign's inaugural Macron Performance of the Month Awards.

The trio were named on Monday as August's winners of the monthly competition which recognises and rewards the top performances throughout the season in the Ryman Premier, Ryman North and Ryman South divisions.

Judges from the Ryman's Board, led by League Chairman Alan Turvey, made their choice from a shortlist of potential clashes, basing their vote on results, form and the circumstances behind the clubs' performances.

Each divisional winner is presented with a glass trophy marking the club's achievement at an upcoming fixture by representatives from the league and sponsors Macron.

Nearly 250 matches have already been played since the Ryman's three divisions kicked off, giving judges plenty of fixtures to choose from.

Maidstone United took the Premier Division's laurels for their performance on Saturday when they beat Kingstonian 2-0 at the Gallagher Stadium. The top flight's leaders had yet to concede a goal this season.

Aveley took the honours in Ryman North for their 6-1 opening day win over Wroxham. The rout saw them bounce back comprehensively in their first league outing since losing out in last season's play-offs.

Horsham were named as Ryman South winners after becoming the first side to visit the Channel Islands and come away with a victory following their 1-0 triumph over league new boys Guernsey last Wednesday night.
