It's Christmas! So wear a silly jumper and raise money for Save the Children

By Ian Townsend

'Christmas Jumper Day' is upon us- and we'd love you to support it.

Friday 14th December is the Save The Children Christmas Jumper Day, a time when people who normally dress in quite a sober way turn up for work wearing glitter, flashing lights and antlers, whilst singing an aria from the Muppet Christmas Carol. But we don't have any football on Friday, so instead we'd like you to demonstrate your dubious taste in knitwear on Saturday!

Save the Children are- of course- our charity partner for this season, and this is an ideal time for our clubs and supporters to show they care. For over one hundred years the charity have been improving the lives of needy children at home in the UK and across the world- and that doesn't come cheap. Your support makes all the difference.

So, please wear a festive jumper on Saturday- and, even more importantly, donate. Individuals can text TEAMBOSTIK to 70050 to donate £2 (you'll also be charged your standard message rate), or alternatively if our clubs organise a collection they can either pay the money in online here or call 020 7012 6400 to pay over the phone or to get the relevant bank details.

We'd love to see your pictures, too- so please post them on Twitter, using hashtag #ChristmasJumperDay to both @IsthmianLeague and @savechildrenuk and we'll get retweeting!

Now how's about a chorus of this on the terraces?
