Kingstonian have announced that former manager Kim Harris has agreed to return to the dugout, and will take charge of the side until the end of the season.
Harris, who was the first team manager at Kingsmeadow from 2002 to 2004 and also stepped in for a short while at Fetcham Grove last season in between the departure of Craig Edwards and the arrival of Leigh Dynan, will have the immediate task of stopping the K’s dramatic slide down the table. Since the arrival of Dean Brennan- who resigned after the defeat at home to Burgess Hill Town on Saturday- the club have picked up only one point from fifteen- and given they’d lost six in a row prior to that, results which led to Dynan’s departure, the situation is far more of a crisis than simply a drama.
The club have an eight point cushion between themselves and the relegation places, with seven matches remaining - but they have a tough run in, with promotion hopefuls Lewes, Merstham, Haringey Borough and Enfield Town, fast improving Margate, and fellow strugglers AFC Hornchurch still to play, as well as a last day derby at Leatherhead to look forward to. Harris will want to get some more points on the board as quickly as possible to stave off any lingering fears that they may be pulled into a relegation dogfight.
