Key fixture delayed by traffic chaos

By David Watters

Hendon and Staines Town have kicked off in their final Ryman League fixture of the season on Saturday after a serious road traffic accident caused traffic chaos.

The Ryman Premier match at Silver Jubilee Park finally got underway just after 4.15pm after the teams had to wait for match officials who'd been caught up in heavy traffic on the North Circular following the accident involving a fatality.

With the result of the fixture affecting relegation placings, Ryman League officials were touch with both clubs and the match officials to ensure the match was played. The game is expected to finish soon after 6pm following the long delay.
