Barry Fry is set to entertain Kingstonian fans at the Ryman Premier club's first big fundraiser of the season.

The Peterborough Chairman - one of football's best known characters and renowned for the TV documentary 'There's only one Barry Fry'- is heading to Kingsmeadow on Thursday 10 October as an after-dinner speaker.

Fry, pictured, is one of the most popular figures on the after-dinner circuit with tales from his long career in football working with some of the most famous and notorious characters in the game.

He won the Football Conference in 1991 with Barnet, signed players such as Jeff Astle and George Best as the young up-and-coming manager of Dunstable Town and guided Birmingham City to the Division Two title and a League Cup semi-final before moving on to the Posh.

In August Fry hit the headlines again when he added 'midwife' to his long list of career roles when his daughter Amber, girlfriend of Brighton striker Craig Mackail-Smith, went in to labour. Fry was at Wembley watching England beat Scotland when he got a call to head home to offer moral support. Typically, the former keeper ended up turning midwife and helping in the delivery by catching his new granddaughter, Isla!

Doors at Kingsmeadow's Ethelred Function Suite open at 7pm with 'An Evening with Barry Fry' kicking off at 7.45pm. Tickets are priced at £40 per person or £35 for members of the Supporters Club. Tables for ten guests can also be booked in advance for £350.
