K's set to sparkle for aid charity

Kingstonian have unveiled a UK charity working in Africa as their new back-of-shirt sponsors for the remainder of the Ryman Premier campaign.

The logo of The Sparkle Foundation Malawi is now featuring on the reverse of the Surrey club's home and away shirts in the Ryman's top flight after officials at Kingsmeadow announced they were teaming up with the charity last week before hosting Lowestoft Town on Saturday.

A non-profit organisation set up by 26-year-old Sarah Brook to help alleviate poverty in Malawi, the charity aims to create small scale sustainable projects across the country to trigger large scale improvements in the lives of as many people as possible by working with local communities and skilled international volunteers.

In a statement announcing their new charity sponsorship, K's spokesman Robert Wooldridge said: "The K's are very happy to be involved with this most worthwhile of charities. This organisation reflects a new 21st century style of giving, not just in terms of monetary donations, but also in terms of the skills and time anyone can offer to help make a difference to the lives of so many people."
