Leiston boss gets his reward

By Peter Butcher

LEISTON took a while to come to grip with Ryman Premier football after winning promotion last season.

But four wins and a draw from five games in December prove that they have made the adjustment.

That fine run also earns Mark Morsley his first Macron manager of the Month award in the top division to go with the two he won in Ryman North last season.

The latest Ryman North prize goes to Maldon & Tiptree manager Terry Spillane. Despite losing to Heybridge on Bosxing day, they won their other three matches and had the division's best record in December.

It's the third month in a row that Spillane has won the award, and the fourth out of five including the April prize, when he was manager of Redbridge.

The Ryman South winner is also no stranger to this honour,. Gavin Rose, manager of table-topping Dulwich Hamlet, was also the November winner, and he picked up the award twice last season. His team had a perfect record in December, winning all four matches.

Where next?

Baker grabs last-gasp winner THERE were three games in Ryman North tonight (Wednesday) and no shortage of action, with all six teams involved scoring at least twice.
