Loyal supporter unveiled as new president

Tonbridge Angels

Stalwart supporter Rob Steele has been named as the new honorary president of Ryman Premier Tonbridge Angels.

The long-time fan and and successful local businessman has been a generous benefactor of local sport across the town for many areas before his appointment on Monday in recognition of his many years of sterling support for the Angels.

Pictured alongside former Manchester United and England winger Steve Coppell, Steele's organisational skills are credited as being behind many of the improvements to the Longmead Stadium since the mid 1980s. Most recently, fans can thank his 'can do' attitude for the works at the North End of the ground.

Tonbridge Angels chairman Steve Churcher said: "This is a fantastic appointment for the club. As we enter a new era in the Angels story with fan ownership now a reality, a young manager who understands the Non-League game and a first class Ryman Premier ground in Longmead, the picture is completed with a new president who I know will help to guide us in the right direction."
