Faversham Town's officials are wishing Carshalton forward Jerome Walker a speedy recovery after he was rushed to hospital with a broken leg on Saturday.

The Lilywhites were leading 1-0 in the Ryman South clash at Salters Lane when the former Harrow Borough player was hurt in what officials described as an innocuous tackle just after the half mark.

Following talks between the referee and the managers of both clubs the game was abandoned soon afterwards.

Walker, 26, was treated on the pitch by medics from both sides before being taken to the Kent & Canterbury Hospital where he is expected to stay overnight.

Lilywhites secretary Wendy Walker said: "Everybody here sends their best wishes to Jerome for a speedy recovery. We will be keeping in touch with Carshalton to find out how he is in the coming days and wish him a speedy recovery."
