Margate win points- and new fans- on Bank Holiday Funday

By Ian Townsend

Margate put on a Family Fun Day in conjunction with their Bank Holiday Monday match against Dorking Wanderers. But before you ask, we're not going to introduce inflatable goals!

A bumper Bank Holiday crowd enjoyed a Family Fun Day in the sun whilst watching Margate clinch their first win of the season at Hartsdown Park on Monday afternoon. Steve Watt’s side secured a 1-0 victory against Bostik Premier rivals Dorking Wanderers to top off a brilliant day.

Ahead of the match, fans were able to play games on an inflatable football pitch, as well as enjoy free face painting and music. 11 lucky young fans won a lucky dip to walk out with the first team.
Whilst during half-time local resident Ruben Jagg was presented with a signed football by attacker Matt Bodkin after winning the club’s half-time penalty shoot-out.

Hundreds of fans made the trip with friends and family and were further rewarded when Jordan Chiedozie scored in the second half to seal three points.
