Medlock moves on after making the grade

Tonbridge Angels striker Billy Medlock left the Ryman Premier on Thursday for Sutton United after signing an 18 month contract with the Conference South club.

Medlock, pictured, had scored 17 goals so far this season since arriving at the Longmead Stadium in the summer from Ryman South Eastbourne Town.

Angels officials wished the 22-year-old former Horsham and Lewes forward well and thanked him for his services at in a statement confirming his departure.

The club said: "This is a great opportunity for Billy who has obviously impressed during his trial at Sutton and we wish him all the very best for the future."

Tonbridge host Bromley in the FA Trophy on Saturday and manager Steve McKimm is urging fans to turn out in force as he believes his side can go along way in the competition this season despite being the underdogs at the weekend.

He told the Kent and Sussex Courier: "Our fans this season, home and way, have been fantastic and I couldn’t speak highly of them, even when we were losing, they were singing and cheering.

"Bromley also have a good following so hopefully there will be a good attendance at the gate to cheer both teams on."
