Met in custody over cups and robbers capers!

Met manager Jim Cooper and his squad are playing cups and robbers while flying the flag for the Ryman League in front of millions of football fans around the world this weekend.

Cooper, club captain Will Salmon and of course a suitably attired Billy Crook, are pictured at New Scotland Yard on Thursday with Arsenal legend Ian Wright and the FA Cup after taking part in a photoshoot and promotional video for the pages of The Sun and its hit website.

With the Met welcoming East Thurrock United to Imber Court in the FA Cup's Second Qualifying Round, the video was published on The Sun’s website on Friday with a story to follow in Saturday’s edition of Britain’s bestselling daily paper.

Although the Met’s press officer Graham Wettone reckons they’ll be plenty of copies of the paper in evidence at the game after the coverage, he’s confident that neither Salmon or Crook will be changing careers soon despite their starring roles with the striker turned columnist in the cup capers special.

The Sun also sent a team down to record the Met's 4-1 win over Bury last weekend for the video and Wettone joked: "Both Will Salmon and Billy Crook took part in a carefully scripted theatrical piece. Although both tried their best, I don’t see many film offers being offered to them in the near future so we should have their footballing services for some time yet!"
