Met's record is no emergency call!

The Metropolitan Police’s playing record in the Ryman Premier is making its mark on social media after an eagle-eyed fan spotted that it currently reads 999!

With 27 games under their belts so far, manager Jimmy Cooper’s players have won 9, drawn 9 and lost nine, prompting one amazed fan to Tweet the top flight’s current table to other football followers before it disappears.

Weather permitting, the statistical coincidence with the police’s emergency number will go on Tuesday night when they host Hampton & Richmond Borough at Imber Court.

Met spokesman Graham Wetton said: "I am not sure how our players have managed it but strangely our league record to date is '999'. If we play tomorrow then obviously it will change!"
