Hot prospect Tom Wraight expects to stay with Witham Town to play in the Ryman League's top flight after a pre-season trial at Barnet.

The 20-year-old midfielder, pictured, impressed with his displays on the left wing at Spa Road to help Town win promotion via the Ryman North play-offs in May. His performances earned him an invite to train with the Conference National Bees last week but the ex-Tilbury man believes the best place for him to continue his football education is with Garry Kimble’s side in the Ryman Premier Division.

Wraight told www.sportinessex.com on Friday: "I think I will be at Witham next season. I think I owe them something as well because they put their trust in me last season. So I think I should stay because it is the right sort of team to be around, with a good set of lads. And I think I can improve by doing that because I am still young."

Wraight came on at half-time in Witham’s 1-1 draw with Halstead on Tuesday and will be hoping to get some more pre-season minutes at Burnham on Saturday.
