Monday's Ryman North action review

Ryman League North Division

Just 48 hours on from their first defeat of the new Ryman North season to VCD Athletic, Aveley got back to winning ways beating Chatham Town 3-1 at Mill Field on Monday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Goals from Sosthene Yao after 17 minutes, Shane Oakley four minutes later and debutant Nurudeen Kallon 10 minutes from time ensured that Millers boss Justin Gardner got the reaction he was looking for. But they had to come from behind yet again to notch up the victory as Billy Bennett gave the visitors an early fourth minute lead.

Newly-promoted Barkingside were denied a second home win of the season by a late equaliser against Brentwood Town at Oakside, despite the hosts turning a two-goal deficit on its head.

Brentwood had the better of the first half and took the lead on 23 minutes through Steve Carvell. And the lead was doubled just four minutes later when Carvell was left unmarked and rounded Dan Mulrooney to score. Barkingside pressed and scored a vital goal right on half-time when Toran Senghore nodded in his first for the club.

Aaron Scott headed home an equaliser from a set-piece eight minutes after the restart and Senghore then completed the comeback with his second of the game. However, Side couldn`t hang on and Petrit Elbi scored a superb free-kick with nine minutes to go to win it.
