New boss on the way after Kimble stands down

Maldon & Tiptree expect to unveil Alan Kimble's successor within days after parting company with their former manager over the weekend.

The 48-year-old stood down at the Ryman North club on Saturday following a poor run of results in Ryman North that left the Jammers needing a draw from their final match of the season last month to secure their future in the Ryman League.

Pictured following his appointment back in September 2014 as the successor to Terry Spillane, Kimble is the twin brother of Witham Town boss Garry Kimble. Together, the pair kicked off their careers at Charlton Athletic and went on to play together at Exeter and Cambridge United.

Kimble's assistant, Anwar Uddin, has also left the Wallace Binder Ground to take over as manager of Essex Senior League side Sporting Bengal.

In a statement on Sunday confirming the pair's departure, the Jammers said they had already filled the vacant managerial post and would introduce their new manager to supporters in due course.

A club spokesman added: "Everyone at the club would like to thank both Alan and Anwar for their efforts whilst involved with the club and we wish them the very best for the future."
