Former West Ham striker Steve Jones was unveiled on Thursday as the new assistant manager at Ryman North Burnham Ramblers.

Jones will work alongside another former Hammers striker, 32-year-old player-manager Bertie Brayley who took over at Leslie Fields at the start of the campaign following the departure of Lee Elliston after just two weeks at the helm.

Jones, pictured, kicked off his career at Basildon United and Billericay Town before signing for the Hammers in 1992 and making 16 appearances. The 44-year-old switched to Bournemouth for two seasons before returning to West Ham in 1996 under manager Harry Redknapp. Further moves followed to Bristol City, Brentford, Southend United, Wycombe Wanderers and Hornchurch in 2002 before he finally hung up his boots.

The 2013 Essex Senior League champions, currently third from bottom, have also announced the signing of experienced midfielder Dave Collins after he left divisional rivals Great Wakering Rovers last week.
