No lederhosen, just sore feet!

By David Watters

A member of Bury Town's German fan club persuaded two of the club's regular supporters to help him keep up with his training as a long distance walker by hiking from Ipswich to Bury St Edmunds for Saturday’s Ryman North clash with Thurrock!

Hans-Peter Wallach, a keen long distance walker and season ticket holder at both Borussia Monchengladbach and the Rams as a proud member of the Us d’r Lammeng club, is pictured at Ram Meadow, right, after completing the 30 odd mile trek with fellow walkers Colin Lott and Kerry Jones.

After the trio reached Ram Meadow by foot for the 2-0 win, Rams spokesman Chris Ward said: "We had three smiling faces and six sore feet but their effort was rewarded with superb strikes from Bradley Barber and Josh Mayhew. With trips looming for Moenchengladbach to Celtic and Bayern Munich, Hans is hoping that the victory is a good omen!"

The Us d’r Lammeng adopted the Blues as their English Non-League club 11 years ago and now boast more than 50 members including many from across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. Last season, 12 fans adorned in specially designed t-shirts of different Bury stars flew in to Stanstead from the Leverkusen area of Germany on a Friday night for a 1-1 draw with AFC Hornchurch at Ram Meadow to celebrate the club's tenth anniversary, pictured below.
