Folkestone Invicta are inviting supporters and their friends and family to a coffee morning in aid of McMillan Cancer Support.

The Ryman South club announced on Monday that they are staging the fundraiser on Friday from 10am to 3pm at Cheriton Road’s Stripes Club to support the charity's now annual World's Biggest Coffee Morning event.

The event is being organised with the help of Invicta supporter Paddy Peirce, a cancer sufferer himself for the past two years, and includes a prize draw.

TV personality Paul O’Grady, who lives not far away in Aldington is among those who have donated prizes towards a bumper super-draw. Tickets for the draw have been on sale since Invicta’s August Bank Holiday home game against Sittingbourne and will also be on sale on the day.

Peirce said: "The McMillan Nurses have been wonderful when I’ve needed them and they do such brilliant work in the community that I wanted to do something in return.

"We’ve got some really excellent prizes and we’re gratefully to everyone who has supported us in this way. There’s even a chance that Paul O’Grady might be able to pop in himself at sometime on the day."
