Whitstable Town's officials are looking forward to staging two community fundraising events over the coming weeks to boost the Ryman South club's coffers.

After their league clash with Walton Casuals on Saturday, fans are invited to a quiz night at The Belmont and later this month the Oystermen are holding a golf day for the Kent club's fans, players, officials and sponsors.

Taking place at Chestfield on Wednesday 22 October, the golf day includes tea and coffee with breakfast on arrival and 18 holes of golf followed by ham, egg and chips. Tickets are priced at £45 per person or £180 for four. For more information contact the club.

In team news, the Oystermen's joint managers Jim and Danny Ward have signed midfielder Josh Algar and re-signed Cameron George from Ryman South rivals Faversham Town and Sittingbourne respectively.

Algar, who has trialed with Arsenal, signed for Leyton Orient in 2011 before moving back into football in Kent at Maidstone United's academy in 2013 and subsequently signing for Faversham in the summer.

Forward George originally progressed through the Oystermen`s U21 side after joining from Woodstock Sports. He signed for Sittingbourne in June.
