MacDevitt, pictured, bolstered Dominic di Paola's Hornets squad at the weekend when the forward left VCD Athletic after making a single appearance for the Vickers in Ryman North, the club's 2-0 opening day defeat at home to Bowers & Pitsea.
Snapped up by Yeovil Town as a teenager on a two-year contract, the 21-year-old left the League Two club to pursue his athletics dream and even had ambitions of making the GB squad for the Rio Olympics after becoming the Irish Indoor 200m U23s champion.
After leaving Yeovil, Reading-based MacDevitt combined his athletics with spells in football at Binfield, Marlow, Hitchin Town, St Albans City, Gosport Borough, Farnborough and Wokingham & Emmbrook.

MacDevitt's next chance to show off his pace should come on Saturday when last term's Southern Combination Football League Premier Division champions head to Hythe Town in Ryman South.
