Partners named as new sponsors

Kingstonian have unveiled long-term supporters Banquet Records as their main sponsors for the 2016-17 Ryman Premier season.

The renowned local independent record store has sponsored the club in one form or another for the last nine years.

For the coming campaign, their name and logos will adorn the front of the club's shirts once again – the home shirts representing the physical store in Kingston town centre, with the away strip signifying their nationwide mail order service.

K’s fan, Banquet Records boss and Kingston councillor Jon Tolley said: “With Banquet growing, some of the biggest bands in the country visiting Kingston gig venues and our mail order getting busier weekly, it’s important to remember one’s roots.

"We are, and always will be, a record shop in the middle of Kingston. We are here for and by the people of Kingston and long may that continue. It’s challenging times ahead for K’s in the search for a new ground, but easy times in Kingston searching or a new record.”

A host of K's officials led by joint chairmen Mark Anderson and John Fenwick lined up to welcome the news in a statement released by the club on Wednesday.

Anderson said: “I’m really pleased Banquet Records are continuing with their long term sponsorship of Kingston’s premier football team. A great example of local businesses looking after each other in this era of global commercialism and brands. Banquet Records prove beyond doubt that they are ‘more than your local record shop’.”

Fenwick said: “I am very pleased that Banquet Records have continued their long-term association with the club by agreeing to sponsor the front of the home and away shirts for the forthcoming season. On behalf of the board I would like to thank Jon Tolley and his team for their excellent support over a number of years.”

Councillor Geoff Austin, Mayor of Kingston, said: “I’m delighted to learn that Banquet Records have renewed their sponsorship of Kingstonian FC. It’s good news for all when local businesses can support local sports clubs in this way.”

Kingstonian manager Tommy Williams said: “Myself, my management team and players are delighted Banquet Records have continued their relationship with Kingstonian FC. Their ongoing commitment and outstanding support is very much appreciated.”

Kingstonian marketing executive Yioryos Vasilaras added: “It's fantastic news for the club that Jon Tolley and the gang at Banquet Records have once again for the ninth consecutive season committed to sponsoring the club, this time as main sponsors of both the home and away shirts.

"Jon has been a long-time supporter and a fantastically loyal sponsor, on behalf of the club I'd like to thank all at Banquet for their support.”
