Precision honours for safest hands!

By David Watters

Folkestone Invicta's Tim Roberts, AFC Hornchurch's Sam Mott and Slavomir Huk at Dorking Wanderers are November's winners of the Ryman League's Precision Goalkeeping Golden Gloves awards.

The stoppers were named on Wednesday as the latest winners of the monthly ‘safe hands’ honours in the Ryman Premier, Ryman South and Ryman North divisions which are sponsored by Nottingham-based Reydon Sports PLC, the UK's largest sports and leisure wholesale and distribution company.

Through their Precision Goalkeeping brand, the keepers can all look forward to receiving a pair of Precision Goalkeeping gloves provided by ProKit UK, the nominated retailer administering the awards on their behalf.

Invicta stopper Roberts is no stranger to the Ryman's monthly honours having won the safe hands accolade on numerous occasions since signing for last season's Ryman South champions in September 2013. Roberts kept a remarkable 20 clean sheets last term and looks to be back to his best to take the Ryman Premier's accolade after a November that saw him concede just twice in four league wins for Neil Cugley's side.

Urchins stopper Mott also looks to be taking the form that won him the final safe hands award of last season into the current campaign. Signed from Thamesmead Town two years ago, Mott wins his first award of the season for the three clean sheets he kept in four draws and win, the keeper conceding just twice in November.

Serbian stopper Slavomir Huk has also been in great form to win his first award of the season and keep second-placed Dorking Wanderers among the clubs challenging for promotion to the Ryman's top flight. In six outings, he was only beaten four times in four victories, a draw and a single defeat.

Precision Goalkeeping boast an impressive list of keeping talent on their books including Kasper Schmeichel, Kieren Westwood, Tomasz Kuszczak, Darren Randolph, David Forde, Frank Fielding, Brian Jensen, Robert Olejnik, Andy Lonergan, Ian McLoughlin, Trevor Carson and Republic of Ireland goalkeeping coach and former international Alan Kelly.

Former England manager Graham Taylor is lead ‘brand ambassador’ for the company which was established in 2005 and also has official partnerships with the Irish Football Association and the Football Association of Wales.
