Geoff Harvey Memorial Vase

Corinthian-Casuals are once again looking forward to hosting their annual Geoff Harvey Memorial Vase tournament.

Taking place over the weekend of Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July at the Ryman South club's King George’s Arena in Tolworth, the two day tournament is now in its sixth year and an established part of pre-season preparations for a number of Ryman League clubs.

Corinthian Casuals' incoming manager James Bracken will have his work cut out to collect his first silverware in the run-up to the new campaign.

As well as Alan Dowson’s Ryman Premier Hampton and Richmond, he'll need to get the better of Ryman South rivals Tooting & Mitcham United and their new manager Frank Wilson as well as Hayden Bird’s newly promoted Merstham.

As in previous seasons, the format sees two ‘semi-final’ matches played on the Saturday with 11am and 3pm kick-offs. The winners of each game, decided by penalties should the scores remain level at 90 minutes, will then face each other for the prestigious Vase on Sunday in a 3pm kick-off. The losers from Saturday will face each other in the earlier kick-off at 11am.

Entry for fans remains unchanged from last summer, £8 per day or £12 for the weekend, a bargain according to club officials at just £3 per match.

Concessions are also available with seniors able to pick up their tickets at half price while U16s will go free with an accompanying adult or senior. Supporters can also enjoy a fully licenced bar, big screen television and a full colour, glossy tournament programme.

A Corinthian-Casuals spokesman said: "Whatever the outcome of the four games, adding a competitive edge to the pre-season programme is always welcome and last year’s tournament saw no less than 15 goals across the four games."
