Quick goals see Thamesmead through

By Peter Butcher

THAMESMEAD wasted no time in the FA Trophy replay at Burgess Hill tonight (Tuesday). Rob Carter scored after seven minutes, Rikki Cable netted a minute later, and that was all they needed for a 2-0 victory.

Danny Dafter struck twice as Brentwood romped to a 4-0 victory in their replay at Harlow. Saturday’s match had been goalless but it was Dafter who eventually broke the deadlock in the 25th minute. Alex Read added another shortly after half-time and Dafter clinched it with his second on 78 minutes. Sherwin Stanley wrapped it up in the closing stages.

Merstham were the only home replay winners. A goal eight minutes into each half, by Liam Wright and Roscoe Dsane, earned them a 2-0 victory over Folkestone.
