Rams have a Friend in him

Ramsgate bring in former Margate and Folkestone skipper

Ramsgate have announced the signing of centre back Liam Friend from Margate.

Liam, who has enormous experience for a man of thirty one years of age, with more than six hundred and fifty appearances for Folkestone Invicta and Margate, made forty four of those last season- the first name on the teamsheet at Hartsdown Park no matter who was in charge. That followed more than a decade at the Fullicks, a period which cemented him in Invicta folklore and saw him win two promotions.

Rams manager Nick Davis was delighted with his new signing. Speaking to the Rams website, he stated:

“At the age of 31, he is still undoubtedly at his peak and to have only represented two clubs tells me all I need to know.”

“Stats don’t lie. He’s a top, top player. He’s been promoted twice from this league and with our ambitions this season being to achieve promotion, he’s exactly the type of player we need.”
