Robins told to get tough

Carshalton Athletic manager Stuart Massey wants his Robins squad to toughen up mentally after they earned their first home win of the season on Tuesday night.

The Ryman South's Robins avenged their FA Cup defeat against Redhill with a 3-0 win at Colston Avenue and Massey wants his side to build on the boost of a first win at home in the league when they travel to Hastings United on Saturday.

The Robins manager, pictured, saw his side win after some good passages of play were capped with goals from new boy Michael Campbell, a first of the season for Brendan Murphy-McVey and Mickel Miller.

He told the club's website: "We've played better than Tuesday and not won but sometimes that happens in football. I felt our heads dropped too quickly after we went behind in the cup fixture so, although there is good ability throughout this young squad, the lads need to learn how to win games. But credit to them this time, we took an early lead for a change and they kept going before adding two more goals late on."

"We seem to perform better away from home at the moment, which may stand us in good stead. It'll be a tough game at Hastings but we are going their off the back of a great win, so we should be confident in our approach."
