Dulwich Hamlet manager Gavin Rose has signed a two year deal to extend his stay as the longest serving manager in the long history of the Ryman Premier club.

The former Hamlet player, pictured, pledged his future to the club on Thursday by putting pen-to-paper on a two extension to his current contract.

Since returning to Champion Hill as manager in 2009, Rose has taken the south London club to the brink of the sixth tier of the English football.

As well as guiding the the Pink ‘n’ Blues to May's promotion play-offs before their narrow defeat at the hands of Margate, Rose has masterminded a period of sustained success, securing the Ryman South title and the Isthmian Charity Shield in 2013 and reaching the final of the Robert Dyas League Cup on two occasions.

During his tenure, Rose has also aimed to sign local players, helping to foster a family atmosphere at the club which lifted the FA Amateur Cup and Isthmian League championship four times during a halcyon period between the two world wars.

Rose, the first Dulwich manager to win a Ryman League Manager of the Year award, told the club's website: “I am really pleased to sign this extension with Dulwich. I have a great affinity with the club, the players, the fans, the board and the community in and around Champion Hill.”

Matt Rimmer, group head of communications for the Hadley Property Group which owns Dulwich Hamlet FC, said: “We are delighted that Gavin has committed to Dulwich Hamlet FC. That is a positive step and matches our own commitment to securing the future of the football club.”
